(active ingredient: loratadine)

LORATADINE 10 mg Heumann Indication application
- The drug belongs to the group of antihistamines and is used to treat the symptoms of certain allergic diseases that are associated with increased histamine release.

- The preparation is used to treat the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (e.g. hay fever) and chronic, idiopathic urticaria (hives of unknown cause).

- Always take the medicine exactly as instructed.

Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the usual dose is:

Adults and children over 12 years:
- 1 tablet once a day (equivalent to 10 mg loratadine).

Children from 2 to 12 years:

If you weigh more than 30 kg:
- 1 tablet once a day (equivalent to 10 mg loratadine).

If you weigh 30 kg or less:
- The 10 mg tablet is not suitable for children who weigh less than 30 kg.

- The drug s effectiveness and safety in children under 2 years of age have not been established.

Patients with severe liver damage:
- A starting dose of 1 tablet (equivalent to 10 mg loratadine) every other day is recommended for adults and children who weigh more than 30 kg.

- No dose adjustment is required in the elderly or in patients with renal insufficiency.

- Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak.

If you take more than you should
- Drowsiness, fast heartbeat (tachycardia) and headache have been described with overdose of loratadine.

- If you have taken too many tablets, please inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

- In the event of an overdose, supportive treatment tailored to the symptoms must be initiated immediately and continued for as long as necessary. Activated charcoal dissolved in water can be administered. Gastric lavage can be considered. Loratadine is not removed by blood washing (hemodialysis) and it is not known whether loratadine is eliminated by peritoneal dialysis. After emergency treatment, the patient must remain under medical supervision.

- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
